Types of Biofeedback
- Electomyograph (EMG) -- electrical activity in the muscles
- Thermal (TEMP) -- peripheral blood flow, vascular dilation and constriction
- Electrodermal Response (EDR) -- skin conduction and sweat gland activity
- Respiration Strain Gauge (RESP) -- monitors the activity and rate of breathing
- Capnometer (CAP) -- measures CO2 in exhalation
- Electrocardio (EKG) -- measures the frequency and variability of electrical activity of the heart
- Hemoencephalograph (HEG) -- measures blood flow and characteristics in cerebral regions
- Electroencephalograph (EEG) -- measures electrical activity on the cortical surfaceof the brain. This is the type being discussed in this presentation. This is known as Neurofeedback, EEG Biofeedback or Neurotherapy
