One of the questions raised in the ongoing debate is whether ADHD is due to slower development (the matuational lag model) or whether is is a distinct different line of development (the deviance model)

Using EEG to illuminate two contrasting models-- the low CNS arousal explanation or the maturational lag model. They concluded that EEG ”demonstrated differences betweeen inattentive and combined types and as degree of difference from controls rather than in the nature of the abnormalities(themselves).”
